Flywheel removal is more flywheel hub removal that the flywheel is rivetted to.
Load up with bolt, add hot water ( boiling ) to hub...god willing a "crack" noise and the tapers grip is defeated....some shock can help.....

Oh dear! Look what happened this evening. Applied the oil filter bolt and one kettle of boiling water along with some gentle persuasion with number 4 hammer and it started to come off. Screwed the bolt in as far as it would go and still took some wiggling to get it off. A closer look inside. What do you think? Salvageable? The delightful view of the stator. Again, salvageable? So after getting that thing off I thought I'd squirt a bit of oil and try the kickstart. Plugs out and a gentle push down and the old girl turned over. Valves opening and closing. Very happy couple of chappies here!

I'd just like to thank the two Johns for their advice on removing the flywheel. It saved me from a lot of ball ache! In fact, thanks to everyone in making this forum what it is.

That fly wheel and stator would be classed as NOS in Duffers workshop

Stator held on with 3 larger x head screws, leave all others alone, but the centre ign advance pole piece can be removed if necessary.
Find the green earth wire.
For your own info, follow each wire into the stator to see/know what wire goes where, sketch them out for reference. This may come in handy later.
Stator, clean with water to wash off all muck, clean pole ends again with water, and leave in sunshine till dry, then leave in airing cupboard for a week or so.
Flywheel similar.
How is the centre can and any magnets broken ?
After a week or so check and record stator resistances and post.
Any bulging on the stator external sensor can ?
Your next hurdle would be the balance chain adjustment "dot"...
Whilst the clutch cover is off, clean out/ flush the sump floor and k/starter oil trough.
Check on CMSNL if the balance weights are cush type...
Carbs/exhausts off yet ?
Enjoy...

A big thank you to Graham. This has arrived, safe and sound. Comparison to what came off. You can certainly see how non-round the magnets are on the seized one. There was no way I was going to put it back on. Methinks untold damage to the stator would have beckoned. It did clean up reasonably well in patio cleaner! Before. After.

Wow ! That's the most "balance holes" weigh removal holes I have ever seen, even on an SD flywheel !
Part number tallies ?

26 as opposed to 3!
Difficult to read the part number on the original as half of it is in the rustiest part that was submerged in the water. I can make out 032000-062* 9 S AVCC11 Just that one digit I cannot fathom out. Grahams one is 03200-0621 9 S AVCC11 so I think it all tallies up.

Time to recap. First registered 08/08/1981 and as the frame number points to it being earlier, I requested a dating letter from Honda just after it arrived to me from Scotland about a year ago. (paid Ā£100 cash to the courier and the Ā£40ish to shiply) I am still waiting for that letter despite sending periodic emails for an update. As it is now 'Historic' shall I keep on to them? It would be nice to know when it was manufactured though. Pictures from the original ebay auction listing. I haven't been able to do much to it during that time but did get the flywheel off which was stopping the engine turning over. I drained the fuel out of the tank and that's off the bike being stripped of the paint. The seat pan has been repaired in the past and could still be used so I may just fettle it a bit to look better.
