The last time I had a soaked helmet I recall it was quite a pleasurable experience (ooh er missus)....not this time.....faulty brake light switch to blame it turns out...

Good idea to keep spares on the bike. The only fuse issue I ever remember having was in 1984 on my new VT250FD <50 miles , a sharp bit of weld on the frame pierced a cable near the headstock and resulted in a electrical power fade as if a UFO had passed overhead. Only 300m to push home, in the Air Conditioned on shore breeze effect Scottish summer evening Most recently discovered bodge on the NC was that fuses were not actually fuses, the ends had detached so they did not look blown, but were wedging in against multi strand domestic wire core! This guy just took the NC apart, had the frame and various bits powder coated, and chucked it back together (Thankfully I think that nothing was done to the engine carbs and other sub assemblies. Certainly not the brakes which were still working, but perhaps not much done since new, apart from pads)
