only it didnt work out that way, our rob baled 4 meadows so being family I had to lend a hand. I will add I'm getting too old for this slinging hay bales in the midday sun, I'm proper cream crackered but at least we got them all in

Great piccy Paul, thanks for sharing....but.....I have to ask this as I have left my Yorkshire phrase book at home. What does this mean? "our rob baled 4 meadows"
And here was I thinking I was struggling to understand the Yanks.

And here was I thinking I was struggling to understand the Yanks. I think rob is a solicitor and 4 meadows is one of his clients

And here was I thinking I was struggling to understand the Yanks. how do I break this down? our rob is my cousin (farmer), baled is the process of making hay bales, meadows are those green things in the countryside

Not taking anything away from your confusion Comstar, but this is the Queen's English compared with Lord Beer's men. Suggest you watch Jeremy Clarkson's Farm on Amazon. See "Gerald" for further details. 😳

See "Gerald" for further details. 😳 I lived in Charlbury, went to school in Chipping Norton and where the farm's located, Chadlington (know as Chad) is between the two. What Gerald says is a complete mystery, but what a happy guy he is! The show was a good watch and show how hard farming actually is. I hope they commission a second series and I will be watching the new Grand Tour show 'Lochdown' at the end of the month.
