stay safe out there but also enjoy a beer that thought about the passport stamp crossed my mind the other day (got a job interview on friday, so I was thinking about future hols) would it make carls potential trip impossible? crossing the french/spanish border could be a real pain? one of the guys I work with said his son (did hull rotterdam on a drive to italy) was given 12 hours to cross holland (easy enough to do in an hour and a half) otherwise he would be classed as an illegal immigrant

Slightly off topic but my kids went back to school on Monday and today we had a letter to say one of the kids in my oldest daughter's class had a positive test. Advice is to book daughter a test and still attend school while waiting for the result. Her teacher is having to self isolate for 10 days due to health issues. Now she has to have a supply teacher. It's just more disruption to her education. Before the summer hols, she attended school for 3 days out of the last 3 weeks because of positive cases. It's just never ending!
Stay safe Pete and enjoy.

So update After returning from France I did my postal day 2 test on Sunday - Got the result on Friday morning - what a waste of time test (it was negative) Went to Germany this week - Tuesday Covid PCR test in UK at 12:30, went to a local lab - result negative at 16:30 - This is the test in the previous 72 hours to get back into the UK - Stupidity in my opinion - Wednesday out to Germany - Heathrow BA Lounge open and plane circa 75% full - All entry paperwork for Germany checked before flight and immigration in Germany Arrive at Hotel - wanted proof of vaccination before checking me in - Thursday - popped into a Bakery to buy lunch and then sat down at a table to eat it so had to take mask off - Officious owner came across and demanded to see vaccination proof Off to airport this was the look of everything in Terminal 1 had to walk to the other end of the airport to find the only cafe that was open I had booked in online - about an hour before the flight I was asked to stand in a Q to get a paper ticket - this was to prove I had all the documents - Waste of time as I had submitted them all online and had BA confirmation that they had all been checked Flight late leaving - 100% full - they were letting people on with trolley bags even after all the lockers were full - the extras had to be put in hold Heathrow flew through Saturday - just posted my Day 2 PCR test - waste of time as by the time I get the result I will be in Spain as I fly out tomorrow
