Time flies as we all know. I purchased this 250 when superdreams were easy to find and dirt cheap, not that long ago 18th July 2015. It was in peices (boxes) when I got it so it was used as a parts bike and the frame stored away in the trusses of my shed. I never intended doing anything with it as the engine was not original to the frame. Its a late 1982 model on a Y plate originally supplied in the best colour - yes you guessed it Blue However, this summer 24th July, I was bored so decided I would clean up the frame. Last time I did this, I said I would never do it again as its relatively cheap to take to the powdercoaters and let them sand blast it.

So a bit more progress. Unfortunately I got the centre stand from Stafford I assumed it was for a superdream so cleaned it up painted it fitted it to the frame but it’s not correct the frame keeps tipping forward I’m starting to think it may be off a CB750F maybe. So on the look out for a center stand 😜.

Sometimes you have to take a stand.

If you get stuck I have a stand. Had to cut it off and it needs the centre driving out under some heat, but it is free. Mind you, if I am not fixing something then.....hhmmm 😒

Nice, you have seen the back of the fuse box ?
I like to put a plastic " gasket" between the fuse box and the metal holder.
Have seen overheated and deformed plastic fuse boxes with bare fuse contacts touching the metal frame.
Although the metal frame is on rubber bushes, better safe than " wtf is going on with the dam electrics now " hair pulling out sorry moments.

John, I guess you also have a fix / prevention for the connector blocks that are exposed to the road dirt and end up eventually corroding in that area too? I'm guessing some kind of heat shrink sleeve or 'bag' for folks who use their bikes all year round. Have you ever done such a mod?

Heat shrink slide over the removed spade terminal crimped part when they are removed from the blocks, yes.
Just defeat the "tang" that stops them from coming out of the block, slide over the heat shrink into position and shrink away. Reinstate the tang and push back into place.
As to a bag over the connected blocks, no. Water once in will tend to stay in, besides the fixing of the block prevents a bag affair.
Grease, think grease. A bit messy but....
That "iffy" red and red/white connection by the battery, I get rid of that possible bad connection too.
I also extend the wires to the flasher relay so that can be mounted an "intelligent" way, rather than becoming a water tank.
The solenoid is a bit more involved and needs fitting intelligently, else that can fill with water, and the terminals terminals get wet in the pricess. If it's " upsidedown, water tends to drip off.
I even have a plastic shield protecting the starter motor terminal. The rubber boot " departed" ions ago.

As per usual I'm terrible at taking photos of progress, its been a while and thought I'd post an update. I finally got the engine back in and started it up with a motad 2:1 fitted just to make sure the engine was a runner before I serviced it and set valve clearances etc, Hopefully this will be a link to the video
