By means of a quick update on this one. Nothing much been happening with the actual bike ATM apart from fuel drained from tank and carbs......and I have been busy sourcing appropriate parts for the project. One current debate.....should the tank remain yellow.....or I go the black route? Tough one. Hmmm. Black will complement those Gold Wheels +1 for black

Love the yellow but I have to agree that the black would suite those wheels better.

Someone has clearly been racing this machine (before the accident), either on a track or fully on the road as it is wearing number plates and has a title of course.....but the intention seemed to be to save weight and get rid of a lot of the factory stuff. My intention today was to finally get it 'recovered' to my new address for TLC, but I had a problem with the triple A (US equivalent of the AA). Computer said NO. Basically I cannot bring it here for another 7 days due to having to upgrade my membership today to include M/C, so will hold tight - and yes I'm trying to get a free tow rather than pay 120 quid, why not??

Parts store building nicely for this one - to return it to a more 'road friendly' machine again but still respecting some of its 'race upgrades'. Genuine new TOR silencers are in that box (great great price from a closing down dealer). But most of those parts you see are recycled used (headers clearly need polishing for example). Interesting project ahead. Lucky with most of these parts....LOCAL B-A-R-G-A-I-N-S

'Optional' centre stand now fitted to make working on her easier.........Arrow headers also loosened at the head with no sheared studs (copious amounts of penetrating agent used since November as they did look very rusty). One of the NOS side panels also tried for size. Let's now get this thing pulled apart.

Tank removed just now and ready to go with the mudguards for paint. Hopefully will be dropping this lot off tomorrow at the painter if plans don't get deviated.

Yes, I think it's for the best Pete.
I will be sorry to see the yellow go in some respects as it is a bit different but when I think how good the bike will look fully black with the gold rims then I think it is the right choice.

Got a phone call a few hours ago......missed it....but voice mail says in broken English ' Hallo Mr Nick, please call me back'.
It was from my painter. I just knew there might be trouble afoot as we normally text. Hey ho, here we go.

Was going to grab my paintwork this morning but the fact that I seem to have got some 'Farmer Giles' from hell has stopped me driving any distance.
Hopefully going to grab them on Monday. The downside was that he screwed up the Thruxton strip (decal). A chequered affair that goes along the top of the tank. He said it looked old and the glue had gone off. A replacement has been ordered.
