Now to get the silencers on. One of the reasons the guy let this bike go so cheap was due to the Arrow system on the bike was a main casualty of the crash....and he could not source a replacement easily at all. These were an uber bargain from a closing down dealer. They are TOR pipe (Triumph off road). Just means that they are a bit more throaty than the ones fitted with a cat inside.

will you ride this back to back with a standard bike Nick? I'd be really interested in the differences the wheels make...

Certainly will be taking it out on a test ride when done Paul, will report back. One thing to note though is that I have never ridden a standard Thruxton. I am not a fan of the riding position - foot pegs set back and lower bars but will give it another go as I have only sat on it - not actually ridden it any distance so far. This is near enough how the bike would have left the factory (see below). I could of gone this route but with the mods that were done to it I think it was good to deviate on this one, which is something of course that I never normally do. It has been good to be a bit different with this one. I'd say the gold wheels are a very 'LA' thing and should help the bike sell here. I can't see it at home in the UK with those wheels.

on a semi serious note, i have poked fun at the build not being yellow... but you mentioned the " gold " rims and couldnt help mentioning that when ever i see a superdream with gold rims [ and a whale tail ] i wince internally...i love the thuxton [ unpainted rims ] as they dont draw attention to the lines of the bike, and if the yellow paint job was not as pronouced, the eye would be drawn to looking at the bike as a whole..as opposed to the dominant color [ in this case..yellow ]

Seems to run fantastic.....although I've only ridded a short distance for now. Last job is to get the stator cover polished up and looking better naturally with the emblem replaced.
