as far as I know they were made by an american tuning shop and sold in US kawasaki dealers alongside the standard bikes. certainly worth a few quid and very desirable, as in I want one but a bit pricey for me
couple of years ago I left a comment on facebook on an americans Z1 turbo special and asked if he knew about the Z1TC, next thing you know he puts a picture of one of his other bikes up, a Z1TC, I could get really jealous of americans and their disposable income

From memory you could specify a turbo on your new Kawasaki from a Kawasaki dealer BUT you didn’t get a warranty on the engine. All the Jap manufacturers later made a Turbo ( and believe you got a warranty ) I know a guy bought a new 750 Kawasaki turbo and he still has it but I’m yet to see it.

I remember Bike magazine running a road test on one of these Turbo Kwakkers and I may have it somewhere😁

Bloody hell. Doubt you'd get much change out of 25k for one of those.

August 1977 Bike magazine not the “official Kawasaki” version but likely where the idea came from.

interesting, thats a very similar setup to the kits that Mr. Turbo used to supply, single carb draw through system. the 750 kwak had (probably) the most interesting setup on it with a hitachi blower running fuel injection, problem was insurance companies hated it at the time because it was a turbo and the bike itself was, sort of, too well engineered. you got gpz900 power and performance from a 750 but you could buy and insure the 900 for less money
