Just to quickly finish the story off on VNP585V. This was the first and only Superdream (so far touch wood) I had a nasty crash on. I was turning right at a mini roundabout on Hartland Road in Reading one March morning back in 1997 when a beige MK3 Ford Escort seemed to appear out of nowhere not giving way. When I looked left the road was honestly as clear as a bell....but within seconds after pulling out I was in the air, bouncing on the bonnet of the Escort then the next thing I recall was a crowd of three people looking over me thinking I might be brown bread.
A minuscule insurance payout of around 3k ensued (I was honestly injured quite badly and sill suffer a bit of jip from my left ankle to this day) some of that money lead to me buying SBY in West London in the October of that year, my 400NA that I still own to this day. The driver of the Escort was found to be drunk and un-insured at the scene. Sad but true.
VNP585V was sold privately to a bloke from Basingstoke as a damaged repairable and she is SORN'd to this day. .....she's had a good innings. had 40 off thousand on the clock when I first got her. Some SD's never seem to die.

Around '87 I had a 3 month old one of these, it was an ex-demo from Charlton Honda. An XBR500. Lovely little thumper with what I thought was a great riding position. I traded it for a Ninja in the end but that XBR is a bike that still sticks in my mind even today, was something so neat about the thing.

E228 DAN...and the only stroker I have ever owned (I think). A Kawasaki AR80. Bought from a young kid in Camberley in 1991....at 17, I was probably older than the seller at the time to be fair. To be continued. ....

46 years ago exactly to the day I bought this brand new for I think £875.In this photo it’s red but it was a tank borrowed while mine was repainted,it was a terrible bike in fact one of the worst I’ve owned 15 months of unreliable ownership before buying my first Honda😁😎

This was a year 2000 Monster 600 'Dark'. An acquired taste indeed......but I loved it, first time I saw one in this exact scheme at Motorcycle City in Aldershot probably 1998..
