I never realised this - just found out. I did hear about it once a while ago but thought it was someone just trying to push a product / modifiaction. Graham.....come in if you see this. Will divulge all in a while but you too may be at risk with your ride. Non Bonnie owners please look away now as this will not be relevant. Cheers

I reckon this you tube video will explain the issue. I have now ordered the mod from the UK to prevent this.

Yes this has worried me also but last time I took the chain cover off one of the bolts just sheared off, must have been overtightened by previous owner.I'm worried clutch cover may be the same and just cause me a whole world of pain so for the moment I just tender and check my battery on a regular basis. it is definitely a must on earlier engines and even hearing reports of this failure on later efi engines which were supposedly beefed up in this area.

Cheers G. Disappointing the response he got from Triumph. His bike was a 2013 EFI so must have had the so called beefed up crankcase to 'resolve' the issue. But of course the manufacturers were well within their rights to refuse a 6500 dollar repair FOC due to the age of the machine. But there was clearly a known problem. Business ethics did not play a part.
I have a TPS safe start on its way which should hopefully hit me next week, it's coming from the homeland.

Had the kit (nearly) a week and progress is sloooooooow....purely just down to my own procrastination. Oil draining now....so let's hope this now starts a chain reaction of vigour. I also need that clutch cover for the Thruxton (yellow) project so need to not hang about any longer.

Such a weird feeling of 'Deja vu' crossed me on this job, but to my knowledge I have never done this before....well not in this lifetime. Who knows? Maybe that happens because we have been on another planet doing a similar thing before..Anyway I digress.
