My attention has just been drawn to this bike which has appeared on a well known auction platform. First off, I'd like to compliment the effort that has gone into it. Not 100% perfect, but I am sure you will agree, a really nice and sharp looking bike. The reason for wanting to discuss this on the forum is this : it took me by surprise, the negatives that the seller has been honest to declare after all the work that has gone into it.... here they are: 1) Front master cylinder has issues ( starts to lock the brakes) original master cylinder comes with the bike. 2) Fuel overflows out of the L/H carb. 3) Speedo returns to zero after a minute or two. ( show correct speed when riding). 4) Fed up with old bikes and getting a new one This being the only place on the internet we can discuss those points as genuine enthusiasts and adults (this is not facebook or other forum level, the talent to know these bikes is right here) these points as a reason for sale have genuinely shocked me. Anyone else have any thoughts on the negatives? Are they hiding bigger negatives? Again, what are your thoughts? Finally, if you are the seller of this bike and are on here then I wish you luck if you have genuinely given up....hope you can obtain the price you have asked and live happily ever after with your new machine.

Crikey seems pretty minor easy fixes to give up , maybe they’ve lost the will to tinker though seems odd with the amount of work gone into that bike !!!!

32000 plus Km’s = low mileage, agreed for the age of the bike, however not low in my opinion.

if I'd done a bike to that standard I'd stand back and be proud of my work. it seems very odd that a couple of niggles seems to have been the tipping point for the owner to sell it (carb, speedo and master cylinder I'd think was an afternoons work) I'm wondering if he's going to regret the sale afterwards? maybe its best just to step away for a while and do something else and then come back to them rather than take rash action which you later regret

there are folk that have oily rag type bikes but are in kept perfect mechanical condition, then there are folk who fit shiny new parts, have a nice paint job done by somebody etc, but dont have any practical know-how and to say they are fed up with old bikes simply means to me they cant figure the problems out [ or cant be bothered ] and blaming the age of the bike for a few simple niggles they cant address now then..wheres me oily rag, my bike needs a spuce up

If it's hiding bigger issues (which hopefully it's not hey it's a Honda) then a viewing would satisfy that. Hope it finds a more sympathetic owner. Nice bike.

Some people don't understand old bikes and cars period so stay away for your own good and everyone else's.
