Just had a chat with Neil
Are you sure it’s a 58 as the 58 tanks were smaller, the type of tank on it is a later 1960 tank
Is it a 350 or 500
Can you post a pic of the other side, PM the Engine and Frame no and he will have a further look

Engine and Frame details gone to Neil I love this type of investigation The Engine no is 3 digit - The bullet Engines are 5 digit preceded by a G or G2 The article blow may indicate it was a replacement engine

I have just reread the above article
The later paragraphs say, reading between the lines the 5 digit engine number was common to be missed so if true this would be the original engine
Conclusion Read twice - Post once

Just having a read through the old post, after having been to the Stafford show today, there were a couple of other 350 Bullets there, one a '59, and yhe other a '60
They both had the same tank as mine, although, neither had the coil
Another difference was, they both had the folding kickstart lever, whereas mine is fixed (can be swapped)
They both had the ignition key on the side panel, the same as mine
Oh, and yes, mine has 19" rims, but, it is a single sided brake lever, same as the '59 I saw (didn't look at the '60)

Just to confuse matters even more, I have been on the phone to Hitchcocks Motorcycles for some parts for this bike
After a good chat with Derek, some pics and info was emailed over to him, and, this is his reply....
Hello
From the pictures and numbers it looks like a 1958 or early 1959 350 “Clipper” with a couple of changes. Early ones had 19” wheels and the later ones had 17”.Early rear hubs were half width later types were full width. The fuel tank looks later but would not have been chromed.
So, now, I am even more confused 🤔🤣🤣
