Serious lack of classic motorbikes catching my eye right now to do up or potentially keep at sensible money....so I just bought this, only 30k miles in its 27 years from birth, I have its complete mileage history from 96. Time to hit the breaker's yards and feel like 18 again (it needs some work on the sun damaged interior trim and obviously the hub caps). $300.....I mean $300. What does that buy these days? That's 242 squid....oh and it's stick I mean manual. These things are good for 250k miles. Engine ran like a watch today (as expected), I drove it for a few miles, no overheating. Only downer is it needs a clutch. Believe it or not, most of those body panels are plastic and the whole thing was apparently considered 'revolutionary' back in the 90s. ....I will be impressed if anyone back home can name the car make and model (it's domestic not Jap).

Picked her up Weds. Good job I did as the kid selling it had pushed it onto the road a few nights before and the feds stickered it with a 72 hour tow away notice (thanks to his nosey neighbours with absolutely nothing better to do....in fact one I should think.......that very one perhaps with a grudge against noisy students, I think her name might be Karen). To put this into perspective, this was a very quiet cul-de-sac......the car being there was harming no one. The kid probably got a fine for it. Some people and their behaviour really do boil my blood.

Anyone driven a manual car with a non existent clutch? It was fun...
To cut a longer story short the car is now getting a clutch fitted - should be ready next week.

Slow progress made so far with this banger lovely 30k from new 1996 classic. Took ages to get a clutch fitted but was finally done last week. Also had an unforeseen battle with the DMV over registration (DVLA UK equivalent) but stood my ground and saved $600 in doing so. Enjoying my trips to the scrappies but rest assured, this is certainly a 'one off'. Things should certainly now move up a gear to get the car moved to the right owner.

Just look at that though. Surely the sign of a low mileage motor?......hmmmm.. In fact when was the last time anyone ever saw one.....do some of you even know what it is??? (retired folk here please don't answer this for them).

Yes, I know what it is, and I'm not retired 🤣
I've had a couple of cars previously, where it has had one of those, in an identical condition
