Hi everybody!
I'm form North of France, and owner of a cb400n (not superdream from our side) that I try to restore.
Currently the engine is open on the table for a crankshaft bearing problem (and I dont find this part anywhere !).
I used to come in England (before COVID, Brexit, ...) and hope to come again, with the cb400N, make a road trip to Brighton, or Margate, or further...
Thank you for your welcome ✌🏻

Good morning, welcome to the forum
Have you tried David Silver Spares for the bearings?

Welcome
A good source for used spares in Europe is eBay.de
Also try ddmototeam.com in France

Here it is It was fully modified in scrambler, with bigger tyres and smaller wheels, with hazardous (and dangerous) parts, from amazon, etc.. I began by fixing the little problems and make it more sure for the road. This picture was when I put the original wheel size, and CB550 fuel tank that I had (but not fit). Engine had a fuel level problem in the carburetor (it's why there is a little stain on the asphalt)

the tapered end of the crankshaft is usually the bit that suffers so I would check the shaft very carefully there. if it all feels good (nice and smooth, bearing not been wearing into the shaft) then I'd check where your brown shells originally went. a trick I'v used is to take the centre shells (they usually look the best) and swap those to the fly wheel end. everything needs checking with plastigauge just to be sure.
the connecting rod shells are worth replacing, I'v seen the coating break down on those, good news is availability is pretty good if you shop around.
I suppose another option could be to put stock alerts on David Silvers and CMS and wait with your fingers crossed
if it helps my own 400 'thing' is running brown shells swapped around as I described above and it seems fine
almost forgot to add, I'v got some NOS brown shells for my nighthawk build and they are yet another part number, I'v measured them every way I can think of and they come out the same as an NOS brown. that could be another part number worth searching for
