Gawd what a horrible weather day.
Curious about one of those bikes looks like a Honda XBR500, very nice colour.

Buster, I owned one in the past too. Have you still got yours?

yep still got it, I get more and more reluctant to part with it (usual story, I want to keep them all) it was an accidental buy on ebay. I was looking at the time for a 400 SD as a rolling restoration, threw a bid in on xbr and ended up buying it

They command quite good money I think Paul?
My woodwork teacher had one brand new I recall around 85, same as that maroon one.

My woodwork teacher had one brand new I recall around 85, same as that maroon one. they're a bit odd on price, on ebay dealers put them up at hefty price tags and just sit for months on end waiting for them to sell (classifieds, not auction) one sold recently for about the same as I gave for mine (on auction) looked a bit rougher than mine and also much higher mileage, I'd say the mileage is pretty relevant too they're prone to top end wear, cam, followers etc. someones done a respray on mine (shades a touch light) and whoever did it made a really good job of the paint but sadly the prep wasnt up to snuff

Sweet XBR.
What caused the stops, the water?

Sweet XBR. What caused the stops, the water? being fairly local I was leading (going too fast as usual ) so I hit the flooding first, the plug being at the front of the engine got drenched (twice) with predictable consequences. easily solved, just took the cap off for a few seconds and the heat dried it straight out, then it fired straight back up. literally emptied my left boot out onto the garage floor when I got home, it was like something out of a cartoon

You have to love meets in the UK. I got totally drenched on the 2015 run up to Wales - Abergavenny - I recall riding through about six inches of water at one point, water was just hissing on the down pipes. Soon dried out after about an hour or so as luckily it passed but boy that was nasty. Looks like the last few SD runs have had sh*tty weather.....such a shame. Where is this so called 'global warming' when it's needed? Ah.....hang on...
