Owned 2 bike when I had the yellow one, a zzr600 and the 250, while I liked the zzr very much it didn't get used that much, paid 400 for the 250 and spent a lot more getting it how I wanted, the zzr600 was 600 and I spent another 600 on paint job and mechanical fixes it needed.
Current SD paid 700 for needing a full resto, would quite happily pay that again for another too.

"They were capable of going anywhere in the country two up at 70/75mph and as 17 year olds they gave many of us our first taste of proper biking"

Willing to bet that a lot of these 'neg egg' comments are from folk who never owned one.

I fitted the Rickman fairing to make touring more enjoyable, the 250 did well with the extra weight, I loaded it up with panniers and a rack which I had the framed tent strapped to, Went two up to Looe in Cornwall with my girlfriend (that’s 250 mile ride for me) great weeks holiday, great times, great bikes.

The Superdream why Paul ? A couple of my mates said why not an X7 or 250 lc, not that I don’t like the strokers , but the Superdream just clicked with me, the styling, reliability and comfort , now I just love blasting round the country lanes on it smiling like a Cheshire Cat long after my still mates gave up on bikes , their loss unfortunately 👍

I didn’t have the dilemma of choosing a 250 as a youngster I was 27 ish and had “finished” with bikes due to my brother having a serious accident and a mate had been killed.Had a lot of time on me hands 3 day week said brother took a Superdream as a swap for a Morris Marina 🙀I started riding it and have been at it again ever since, that’s why I have an affection for the Superdream😁👍

Absolutely love seeing this pic. You also look like a young (but blonde) Del Boy in it.

"Had a loan bike of a 250 Superdream- (it had a neutral between every gear had to keep foot on the gear change or it jumped out) whilst my 400 Dream was in for work (snapped cam chain, see told them there was something wrong with it Mr Dealer) and still preferred the Dream, lovely bike to ride"

It was a sleeved down 250 from a 400...in order to give a young guy the 'big feel'.
Slow against what?
FFS.....I do worry.

Let them bash. Let others believe the bashing. That will leave more SD's for us to enjoy!

"They were great bikes. I brought a brand new CB250NA in 1981. Kept the Honda Superdream for Close on 3 years then brought a new CBX750F. I mainly brought Honda’s because of the reliability of the Engines. I’m in the process now of renovating a Honda CBR1000FL. I’ve had the latest bike since 2016. I’ve near enough now totally rebuilt the CBR1000FL and hope to get her back on the road early in 2021. Who knows The Suprrdreams always in my mind, I might even Renovate a 250 or a 400 Superdream next time."
