£995 for a Superdream when you can get a CB250RS for £844. I've had both and there's a reason I've had 4 RSs and only 1 superdream. Cheapskate!

Took the 250 out for it's first run of the year, and as we all know it's dog slow with crap brakes and wobbly handling, however stopped off at work and one of the old lads was in farting about and came out for a look, he was overjoyed to see it having owned one many moons ago, he still has the speeding ticket he received doing 85 (he kept it as proof as at the time many believed such a velocity was impossible 😄), it's now back in the garage beer hall for a service and polish. Many take the piss out of it, but as with many things I give not the slightest f**k, I like it as do many others, and I can fix it with hammers 😄

Had a yet another facebook 'to do' earlier......bear with , will upload deets in a bit. Not sure if I should still bother at all with FB - thinking of coming off there soon....full of idiots and trolls.
But we need a channel to stand up for these bikes in some way or another on line......if we (on this forum) don't, no one else will.

But we need a channel to stand up for these bikes in some way or another on line......if we (on this forum) don't, no one else will. It depends on which FB groups you look at. On the ones dedicated to bike are fine. You get the odd idiot but on the whole they are helpful and full of good advice. I think those that put a downer on the marque are comparing a 40 year old bike to something more modern. Then you get the trolls... enough said about them! Maybe we should highlight some of the positive comments along with the bashing?

So that little debate I was going on about the other night was about the 250 and how supposedly gutless it is against other bikes of the era.....and indeed so against the 400 version.
It still beggars belief that 40 years on, some people continue to play this same old tune......and still continue to miss the whole reason the 250N existed in the first place.
So for those hard of hearing, here it is again in a simple nutshell:
This bike was produced to give young learners at the time the feel of a big bike but with a sleeved down engine. It was never designed to be a performance model for this very reason.

Social media, Internet keyboard warriors and the like are best avoided, and if someone disrespects my Superdream in the real world with tales of 'ooo had one of them, they're rubbish etc' which has happened, I simply tell them to f**k off, harsh but engaging these people is pointless, they are experts and know everything. I like what I like and don't give a monkeys bollocks what people think.
Lord Beer's opinions on what other people ride are not available because I don't give a toss, do whatever makes you happy and chill out, sadly the philosophy is lost on the hard of thinking.
But fear not, the gift of beer soon makes one forget such trivial matters 🍺

A small list of speed or lack of. In KPH as it can give a more accurate comparison. MODEL | Max Speed KPH | NOTES | 250N | 146 | 4 stroke | XS250 | 140 | 4 stroke | RD200 | 135 | 2 stroke | RD400 | 150 | 2 stroke | GSX250 | 145 | 4 stroke | X7 | 150 | 2 stroke | Z250 | 140 | 4 stroke | KH250B | 140 | 2 stroke Triple | OSSA 250 COPA | 145 | 2 stroke | Moto Guzzi 254 | 150 | 4 stroke Four | CZ 250 de luxe | 120 | 2 stroke | MZ TS250 SUPA 5 | 130 | 2 stroke |
146KPH = 90.72MPH I stuck the RD200 and RD400 in just to add to the fun. People also need to remember that the 250N is quite a heavy bike and many of those in the list are lighter.

“Rose tinted glasses” are worn when talking of the 70s bikes Especialy 2 strokes.Widow maker my arse that’s a term concocted very recently about 70s 2 strokes that were ridden round the block occasionly because they were dirty expensive non practice unreliable bikes shunned by most that preferred faster more reliable 4 strokes 🙀.Fact.😁

A fine list of stats Sir Kenobe, but alas, like politicians, Internet trolls care not of facts, they know better and are best ignored.
Wish my SD did 90.72mph, must lose some weight 😁

All very interesting and relevant chaps.
Please be rest assured, if anyone chooses to berate our beloved SD on a dedicated forum, they will be ‘escorted off the forum via security without hesitation’.....and then taken to one of Lord Beer’s towers to educate them.
Let’s continue to keep the faith and keep these ‘strangers in the camp’ at bay.
