Any idea what years these pic were taken Steve? I will no doubt find out much more, including dates and details. What I do know is that she had this and a 400. This bike was cherished and worked without issue for all of its 40k miles. It began to leak a little oil from seals, but that was it. It was with her for 37 years including spending a number of years in a bedroom boxed up as she had no shed and didn't want it to deteriorate (ironically). She eventually sold it as it was in need of restoration, to someone who assured her it was to be fully restored. Instead, as we know, it spent the next 6 years outside in a scrap yard being stripped. She used it for all sorts and told me of her and her friend taking a trip to the Isle of Man in 1980, amongst many others. I also have another picture of it in 2002 looking worn but loved, with her then young little girl posing for the camera. The colour change from blue to black was also a lovely story. Seems it was the result of some nasty key work by her then new boyfriends ex ! Talk about "kicking his/her horse" ! I know what you are thinking..... and I will mention this little corner of the tinterweb and see if I can get her to pop up and say hi. She no longer owns a Superdream, but as you know, I don't keep em, so you never know what could happen. She is definitely a very likeable and interesting lady. This one could turn into a forum team effort for parts. So if your stock rooms have any spare spares ? Now where the hell do you get those wrap around crash bars ?

The crash bars come up occasionally on ebay.de Keep an eye on cb400n Sturzbügel

Thanks Pete. Jenny has herself begun as she inadvertently kept a couple of momento's, and I will indeed need em ! Nick, the photo's can be used and they were taken....."The one with myself and Karen on was at my uncle s in Stanton by bridge Derbyshire 1980 and the other 1979". I have asked her to write a little something which I will post up. I am seriously interested in buying parts so I will do an inventory to see what is missing, and what I already have, then post a list up of hopes and wishes. Any other helpful ideas, much appreciated.

Sir Duffer, apologies, I have just read through this thread, I now understand your quest for originality in your quest to restore this fine steed to its former glory so that the previous owner can relive the joy of the past, I am most honoured that I have been able to supply items to assist, and if thy requires thy services do not hesitate to ask, I am at thy disposal, fine work my friend.

I honestly think that this man could restore HMS Titanic, Lord Beer. 'For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fe-her-low.........and so say all of us'.

Glad you're back on it, looking forward to seeing more and more progress. Dark evenings there will be plenty of these for a few months, keep up the great work.

Sir Duffer once again wields his mighty spray gun with the inevitable quality results. Lord Beer is humbled to ride a Duffer edition Superdream 👍🍺🍺🍺🍺 Just as well Sir Duffer resides many miles from Lord Beer, his skills would be most in demand 😁

have you tried picking up the cam chain and then gently working the kickstart to see if you can get any movement?
