Kind of brings back memories of my uncle's funeral. As is traditional in the Welsh valley town of Tonypandy, a service is held at home before the procession. Well, it was a small house, two rooms downstairs, the living room and the kitchen. My uncle's coffin is outside, everyone crammed inside. My auntie sat in a chair in the living room, my cousin's around her. The vicar starts his stuff, a bit of wailing going on and suddenly my other auntie collapses in the doorway between the two rooms, legs in the living room, arms in the kitchen. Total chaos. Vicar keeps going. Ambulance called. Hospital only 2 minutes away so they arrive quickly. Paramedics do their stuff. Charging 200. Charging 360. Legs flapping in the living room. More wailing. It was like something from Last of the Summer Wine! All to no avail. So another funeral in a couple of weeks for her. To cap it all, the other auntie died the day before this one's funeral. Yet another funeral to attend. The CO-OP did OK out of it!
