I thought it was about time I gave the SD a bit of a service so ordered the necessary oils and filters etc but I’ve made a bit of a faux pas. I assumed the air filter would require oiling so did some research including looking at reviews for the best oil etc which was then duly ordered. On receipt of the oem air filter, I discover it’s a pre oiled item. Always something new to learn in this game. Not the biggest mistake I’ve made by far but a bit embarrassing still.

It will keep for when you launder the filter in a few years time.....

Realised yesterday while looking at the parts diagram for something else, that there appears to be a part missing from the Deluxe. The part is the “Guide, Upper Cable” part no. 53133-443-610. I assume it fits underneath the handlebar rest and over the top yoke? I’m also guessing it helps guide the brake hose possibly? Any info. Is much appreciated, thanks

Looks like the throttle cables pass through as well...

Spot on Neil. It guides the brake hose (and throttle cables). It clamps under the handlebar clamp (four Allen bolts).

Lovely bike Neil. Always loved the deluxe in black. Almost as much as silver. I'd say they were on a par in looks.
