I just performed the same measurement on a CB250/400N header I have here......12.4cm.

do you mean circumference? 124mm would be bigger than a domestic soil pipe, probably get great flow though

so BSA pipes 1.5" diameter, or 38mm if we're being posh, I love the fact that the brits paid attention to getting the flow consistent around the bend, all too easy to stretch the metal and leave it narrow (restricted) on the bends. I'v no room to talk when it comes to being thick, thought I didnt have an oil light wire yesterday, completely forgot it was still on the bike...
