Good afternoon all, thought I was coming close to getting my Superdream on the road, had it running today, all panels back on, and noticed an oil leak
Any ideas where it could be coming from?
See attached video

See attached video Looks like it’s coming from the area that is occupied by those rubber sleeved cylinder bolts?

This bolt? How easy are they to replace? Is it a full engine strip? Or, can it be simply removed in situ, and replaced?

In theory, you just undo those bolts and fit new ones......if only !
Visit CMSNL.com and see the two bolts with the built on seals, one long one shorter...
Have you had the engine apart ?
Several pictures of the cam area would not go amiss.
Is the cylinder base gasket green by chance ?
It is recommended that a thin smear of honda bond is applied to the rocker arm carriers to cylinder head faces involved with the inner head bolts be applied to prevent oil leakage in that area that dribbles down to collect and "leak" close to the bolts home in the lower crank case.
Be warned that the 4 inner head bolts can be problematic, very very problematic at times !
Absolutely no sealer what so ever be allowed into the head/crank case bolt holes else you run the very real risk of "bursting" those holes, resulting in half the hole breaking off and lying on the crank case floor.
Have you had the engine apart etc. ?

Note there are 2 and both different lengths The one that appears to be leaking, the front one, is the same one as the one pictured above, part no. 13 on the cmsnl website The rear bolt us part no. 11

I, personally, have not had the engine apart When I checked the oil level previously, it did look fresh and clean Can't remember the gasket colour, although, the edge is visible, possibly green, the cylinder head gasket is black

the way that oil's coming out makes me think the seal has vanished completely or someones got the bolts in the wrong order. I'd go very carefully if you try to remove the bolts, as has already been said, they can be a right pig of a job

Had the same problem with mine - and when I investigated further the bolts fitted were without the sleeves (only the two left inner have the sleeves)
They can be replaced in situ as the frame has holes to allow a socket extension
Ebay sometimes has second hand ones - some with usable sleeves - 216mm and 206mm bolts I saw yesterday were sold yesterday!
250s are different sizes to the 400s
