Anyone know what's happening with the cafe? Last I heard it was going to be rebuilt but that was at least 18 months back. I'm gonna to be up there next week and wonder if they at least have sum kind of catering facilities and bogs on the site, even if just a burger van.
Cheers RB

last time I was up there it was just a shell, managed to get an ice cream from a grumpy bugger in a van but that was about it at the time. I'm thinking it was probably two years ago so maybe theyve built the new cafe? or maybe covid's scuppered it

From what I can decipher, the cafe shell has been fully raised to the ground and the site now cleared. But there are temporary catering facilities there so I think that's what they mean by that Pete.
I just looked on their FB page and the owner even joked that McDonalds had bought the site but by all accounts this was a April fools wind up.

Scenery looks amazing. Never been but heard it was a real famous stop off point for bikers in the North. Shame about the fire.

Shame about the fire. not sure about now, but it was very popular back in the day with the knee slider brigade who would regularly go up from the bottom to the top as fast a possible...the road itself is great for that sort of thing
