Guys, what sizes are your u/s cleaners please? I think it's time I bit the bullet. Seen one which is a 3 litre for around 53 quid and wondered how that measures up in value. Cheers

Hard to tell from the picture, but mine looks similar , but perhaps mine is a bit smaller (Aahem, stop sniggering). It fits one dismantled carb inside, so as not to mix up the bits, and is good enough for me.

Mine is a 2L version with digital display of Duffers If buying again would probably go bigger as it struggles with a single SD carb but will do the job Brit carbs fit fine - In this case size matters

No need to rub it in Pete 😔 I might be digital but the 1L additional capacity of yours makes up for it Mine will last but as I said if I was buying again I would go for a bigger one I manage it by taking the 2 brackets off the mesh pan and putting the lid on upside down The key point is I only paid £25 for mine - the guy mispriced it on E-bay I have no idea how Nick has managed so long without one

Quick dumb question and I think I already know the answer....
I have had by carbs done by professional outfits in the past, so (like the camera thing) I'm new to this.
How far must say a pair of SD kehins be dismantled down to put into one of these? Would you say totally?

Agree with Sir Pete, I stripped my FireBlade carbs down into four then stripped down into each component, then cleaned the lot.
Nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure 👍

Just to clarify the question, of course the tops would come off (springs and plastic gubbins etc) and the bowls would come off and needles and floats removed.
So I just wondered if it was necessary to separate the main assembly.

If the stripped bodies fit into the tank then that should be fine, I just stripped everything down as I'm a picky sod and like to know everything is reassembled as it should be, bit time consuming on a bank of four, but fitting back on the bike and balancing them up perfectly is most satisfying.

I found out that there is a jet buried inside under another one which is unscrewed with a good fitting straight screwdriver. Mine was still blocked after several runs through the cleaner. Needs taking out. Like a tube with four tiny holes if I remember correctly.

I think it’s a must have in the workshop. I think mine is a 10 ltr and cost approximately £120. I’m very careful with money and these are money well worth spending on. My advice get at least a 10 ltr you will regret it if you go smaller.

The small parts can be troublesome so I carry many spares It's quite common to find the secondary jet chewed up, this screws into the needle jet holder, as Sir Duffer states a good fitting screwdriver and 7mm ring spanner are required to seperate Assembly diagram so you can see whats going on From the 250/400 manual, but carbs are pretty much the same simple device. Apologies if I'm already preaching to the enlightened

Although in the FireBlade manual these parts are referred to as main jet and needle jet But no matter, you get the idea.
