My girls primary school had a confirmed positive test on one of the kids in the nursery section a couple of weeks ago so they closed that section and those kids were off for a week. This is the first positive in the school which I think has been quite good. Then yesterday, another positive in KS1, year 1 or 2, so they have shut those classes down. Today, it's KS2 lower school, years 3 and 4, my daughter is in year 4. All her class were present today, so it must be in year 3. Result is years 3 and 4 are now off too until the 5th of July. They must self-isolate until the 3rd. Then to cap it all, my son has said that some of his year group have been sent home to self-isolate as one of the boys has been tested positive. Those identified as close contacts derived from the class seating plans. He's in year 9 secondary school. He knows the boy that has it and shared a room with him on the trip to France. But that was 2 years ago!
So my daughter in reception can attend school and my son can but my other daughter can't. I will be keeping my daughter off as it's not worth taking the chance after having 3 cases in two weeks. We've done the lateral flow tests and everyone is negative.
Keep safe everyone and I hope Stafford goes ahead!

There has been a couple of alerts at the high school here, that someone connect to the school tested positive, and some pupils have had to isolate. But none in second year, that the Son is in, so far! Two days to go , then he is off for the summer.

Well, my son came home today to say that the school has sent more of his year home after another positive. He said there were 40 odd called out this morning and then another 30 odd after lunch. That leaves about 40 left. He's not one of those affected but thinks it's inevitable he will get the 'call' at some point next week. There's only 5 in his maths class now and 9 in English. I said he will get some good teaching if that's the case. His answer? We watched a movie in English!

Well my daughter served her time in isolation and went back to school on Monday. When I collected her this afternoon I was greeted by a letter to say they have had another confirmed positive in the year below her and as that is classed as in her bubble she's now off again and self-isolating for another 10 days. She goes back on the 19th when all this bubble stuff ends! So she has had 3 days in school over the last 3 weeks, and when she goes back, she has 3 days left before the holidays.
