Has anyone else lost their motorcycle mojo, now or in the past? I have been meaning to refit these carbs for over two weeks but just can't get motivated. To be fair, I have had the sorest most painfullest throat I can ever remember having this week and it has set me back, but even so, I feel I should be more motivated than this. Same with the BSA, I should be starting her up and taking her for a ride, but again the motivation is not there atm......also not been very active on the forum this week I guess for the same reasons... It will come back for sure. I just wondered if anyone else experienced similar phases from time to time?

Oh yes, on and off for the last 20 years, but a lot of that was because of lack of space and dedicated workshop space, (or being overseas).
A bit of surge this year though, as far as possible, I want to get everything done and switch to mainly regular servicing and parts exchange by summer 2023 (was Original retirement date). But will still will be doing some engines and carbs.... schedule overrun.

I have indeed suffered similar symptoms most recently with my CB750F a bike I liked and did quite a few miles on,took tank/seat/panels/exhaust off with intention of it going back together with fresh paint last year but…………Covid arrived and Nowt happened after the respray and it’s gone replaced with a Royal Enfield.

its the main reason I'v never wanted to be a bike mechanic for a living, I want bikes to be something I enjoy and do for pleasure not something I have to do, so if I cant get motivated I'll do something else for a bit.

As stated by many above we all go through it from time to time, worst case scenario sell what bikes you have during this spell, then later on in life kick yourself. They are boys toys so don’t force it or make it a chore tomorrow is always another day. Only do it if you enjoy it, god forbid the time that we never return to the workshop/garage/shed we’re our bikes are sleeping. For me I hope that will only happen once I’ve been in the box and through the furnace.

Yeah thanks chaps I know we all go through it. Maybe writing this thread alone helped kick me up the backside a bit as that afternoon the carbs were back on. I think my mojo maybe back.

Lost it slightly again of late but for no reason really......it will come back. Just other things getting in the way. I am aware I have a nice project to crack on with and my gopro to get to grips with.......just seem to be procrastinating a lot with motorcycle stuff lately. Looked at a nice old 69 Lightning locally yesterday though which gave me a boost. Also going on a ride to the Rock Store tomorrow, will take pics and share them of course.

I’d lost the enthusiasm for quite some time on the Deluxe but the interest is slowly coming back on line. It has happened before and I’d sold bikes during these times, only to regret it later, when the interest returned. You live and learn I guess.

My mojo has been awol since last July hardly been on here or the other forum either but I was in the lean-to yesterday checking the bike over ready for the MOT at the end of the month started the bike for the first time since last November and it fired first press of the button ,that certainly peaked my interest a bit so we'll see
