Despite that amusing video from the 80s I need to ask a serious question to those in the know. If I exported/imported this 2001 Bonneville to the UK would DVLA go by the 06/2001 build date, therefore registering it a a Y*** *** plate....or would they give it a **51 *** plate ? And would my BSA which has an 08/1972 build give it a *** ***L plate or a K suffix? Do the DVLA go by build dates and more importantly, are they consistent on this of late? If anyone is knowledgeable in this area please shout up. Cheers

I think they go by the american title, from what I'v seen advertised (spares or repairs, unregistered) its a trickier process to do it by manufacture date as you have to get the date from a trusted source. I hasten to add I might be wrong on this
