UK Bike insurance. Just had my renewal quote from Carol Nash today. It's gone up £100 from last year bearing in mind that the cost of living has gone skywards, I'm kind of thinking that this is a little expensive as I've hardly used it in two years due to the pandemic and working away from home. Just seems have been a little heavy handed quote from them. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has been hit with what I call an excessive price increase ?. Time I think to look online for another classic bike insurance again.

Oh we can't give you a special deal so it's gone up 50% . Total rip off . Like most taken my business elsewhere for the same as last year. Shame they don't like repeat business . Good luck all.

just re-insured the thing (400) for a little over £80 fully comp, it has a 4000 mile per year limit on and no pillion cover included at that but I can live with it. lost it with carloe nash last year, back in the 90's they were really good but now it just seems to be lets screw our customers for as much as we can . there are better insurers out there, I could have got mine £10 cheaper but this policy is 5* defacto rated ( whatever that means) and includes breakdown cover, well worth the extra tenner I thought

i have found that some of the bigger, so called " classic bike " insurers are dearer than some bog standard insurers..they all piss in the same pot anyway...when i took out my aa cover, the lady on the phone was rambling about all the terms and conditions etc and informed me that i was covered up to 8 passengers in the event of a breakdown, i stopped her mid sentence, informing her the bike wasn't a display team model..the phone went quiet for a second or to, then it dawned on her what see had said..broke the ice if nothing else !

I listen to greatest hits radio when I'm driving about in the van and the MCN compare advert airs regularly on there banging on they save bikers £80 on insurance. I've just given it a try and got a quote of £70 fully comp for the 250 limited to 3000 miles without pillion passengers. No idea if that's good yet until I try a few others.

i have read a couple of posts that mention " no pillion " cover...cant remember a surcharge when carrying passengers in a car, after all most bikes have a twin seat and most average cars have space for 5 folk...they are all taking the piss !

Just had a look at the cost breakdown of the price. The premium is £65, then there's a discount applied of £24.50 but get this......they add a new business fee of £30
WHY???
On the plus side, included is breakdown cover and legal assistance.
