My thoughts on this are that doing the clearances on the Royal Enfield simple job most will do themselves the BSA messing around with shims…….dealer only for majority plus the Royal Enfield better looking bike in my opinion 😁

Much like the SD and old Beezers, it seems the valve adjustment is very easy without shim and buckets involved. That said, does one have to get it carried out at an 'official' RE dealer in order to not void the warranty?

The most difficult thing about doing the SD clearances is removing all the kit to get the cover off
Suspect same on the RE

depends a bit on type of bucket and shim, the older sort (kawasaki z1000) were easier to do than screw and lock nut, you just compressed the valve spring a little with a tool like this and then picked the shim out with tweezers and drop your new one in. the more modern type are a pain in the hole as its usually camshafts out to do the job
