The CB250N-A & CB400N-A Super Dream (1980-1981)
In order to keep the model fresh, Honda gave the CB250/400N Super Dreams their first official update, late 1979. These are known as the ‘N-A’ models. The kick starter and underseat glovebox were deleted. The bikes received a brand new block style pattern on its seat cover and the amber side headlamp reflectors were now relocated to the frame down tube, by use of a plastic mounting bracket.
The colour options and liveries slightly changed from the original versions. The 250cc model was now available for the first time in black (orange/red decals), silver (blue decals), metallic blue (black/grey decals) and a candy metallic red was now offered, replacing the original non metallic red (orange/red decals) – all of these models had a two tone stripe across the fuel tank which did not fade out. The 'N' found on the side panels of all the CB250N-A was in red. The 400cc version was now only available in black and the metallic red and had a two tone yellow and orange ‘pin stripe’ decal around the edge of the fuel tank.
It is worthy to note that during this particular model run, the 250N Super Dream became the best selling UK motorcycle in its 1980 year.
