Having clocked up some miles over the last couple of weeks I have noticed a troubling problem, namely verges not being cut, country roads that appear to be tracks cut through a forest of weeds and tall grass obscuring vision through the corners, having to move forward at junctions just to see if something is coming, what's going on, encouraging wildlife?, keeping the eco mob happy?, or, as I suspect, using the aforementioned to keep the costs down in the name of eco shite and bollocks to the road users, the powers that be continually bang about safety, so how is this safe?, it's not, simple as that.
I'll have to use a combine to get to the off licence if this continues š

Biggest thing I noticed when I was back in the UK in March was the horrendous pot holes on some of the local roads. That said, it was just after the winter period.
Not that it's any better in certain areas over where I am right now, some of the roads can make your fillings fall out (if you have any).

totally agree with lord beer, encouraging wildlife/pandering to morons is insane policy. the other effect it has is idiots in their massive 4WD's then drive in the middle of the road, barging everyone else into the ditch to avoid them, because they dont want to scratch their Wayne Wovers on the grass and hedges. why would you encourage wildlife to live next to roads anyway? surely its asking for carnage of the poor creatures

I quite agree with Lord Beer. I have had to complain to my neighbour that in my opinion, she has a very unruly bush, and it is becoming a bit of an obstruction.

It gets worse. I explained my problem to her husband and he was quite dismissive. Apparently just because he uses a different approach, the bush is never an issue to him. I offered to trim it myself but he said he would only have it done professionally and send me the bill ! Bloody cheek!
