Here's a question.
I have a Suzuki GSX600 in my shed that uses a cartridge type oil filter. I've bought a pattern one off ebay (was expecting a Hi Flow) and it has turned up without any manufacturer name on it although it is printed with all the usual warnings etc.
Is there any risk to the bike in using this? He's sold over 65 according to his ebay listing without bad feedback It looks the part inside but in what way could it fail if at all? Thanks comrades.

I’d imagine if he’s sold that many without issue you’ll be fine?

I’m a tight git but when it comes to oil filters I only buy from a reliable source whether it be genuine or pattern ie David Silvers/Wemoto/local dealers 😬

I bought a Royal Enfield filter from an RE dealer via eBay, the filter had no real id marks on it although it came in an RE box

Trying to think of the worst that could happen. I mean it could just break up and filter metal fragments around your engine but now I’m just being a drama queen. Anyway, they’d filter out.

strange area pattern parts, I'v never personally worried about fitting pattern oil filters, they're one of those parts that stand a good chance of being made by the OE manufacturer or as is sometimes the case another company that bought out tooling from the OE manufacturer. then theres other pattern parts that are just a bit naff, like the pattern handlebar grips I got off silvers, they measured the originals and copied the pattern but forgot to account for the rubber shrinking as it cools after the moulding/curing process...
