My opinion of the four main motorcycle manufacturers in Japan are as follows in order of my preference in design and quality 1 - Honda (there can be no argument) 2- Yamaha 3- Kawasaki 4- Suzuki I have surprised myself as I never liked Suzuki’s so why did I buy one two weeks ago and a second is being picked up tomorrow fingers crossed. I must be getting old or something 🤷♂️. PS they are projects to move on in the spring, I can’t be upsetting the current flock.

Oh man, that Suzuki on the bottom is nice. Is it yours?

Coming back to your question though, yes Honda number one, far superior in every way.
Kawasaki were awesome too but I think they lost their way a bit in the eighties. I'd love a Z1......amazing looking machines.

My 2 penorth 😁 Hondas number 1 .Not keen on Suzukis although had 4 one of which I still have ( FE knows which one 😁 ) Only had 1 Yamaha and zero Kawasakis. Would love a big 70s Zed. I do like the look of the bottom pictured 500 though

Yes I like that 550, I think that may be the type I has a test drive many moons ago, really nice. I remember the woman dealer saying, that if I crash it I'll have to buy it . That's the one that has the two twin choke carbs I think... I think the only Suzuki I actually owned though was an X7 in white, frequent swap shots on GSX250's in 82/83/84 though. I would put Honda 1. Yamaha & Kawasaki as joint 2, and Suzuki 3 by a very small margin. The only Suzuki part I have currently is a rear Brake Caliper (not in use)

Correct John, two twin choke carbs on a four cylinder, surely easier to set up? Plus it’s got tappers and not shims so that’s a plus too imo 😃

for me 1 - honda 2 - kawasaki (what a surprise ) 3 - suzuki 4 - yamaha oddly I'v always had a bit of a soft spot for suzukis two strokes, I know the yams and kwacks were more exciting but I'v owned a few suzuki strokers and really liked them

Thought it was a 500 twin you’d bought FE Yes I got a 500 a week or so ago that’s a more modern bike 2005 and this is a 550 early 80’s (1982), as they say you can never have too many bikes, or maybe you can 😂
