Fan dabby dozie.
One of the best colour schemes after the silver deluxe. Love it.

I think I like that colour scheme even more than the dark silver/grey one I like the way the lines flow on this one. I think Honda were at 'SD pinnacle' when they made this one, heaven only knows why they sold so little compared to the other colours.

It's my opinion that Honda would have sold a lot of these in the UK had the learner laws not changed just when it was about to appear. Honda intended for it to come to the UK but that decision was scrapped as sells simply dropped through the floor on 250s. Hundreds if not thousands of the previous models were left unsold. The CB125TDC stepped in and had to take its place.

So I have found out why this bike was probably discarded, I could see one of the bolts was half out on the carb inlets so I assumed someone had started to take the carbs off, pointing towards running issues 🤔. Plus the banjo bolt was missing from the master cylinder 🤔. On closer inspection the brake piston was seized pushed in and not returning. So I decided brakes first. I took the banjo off the calliper and connected it to a good master cylinder pump fluid up the system until finally the seized piston popped back. Then it was a case of pump one master cylinder and then the other to lubricate and work the piston free. Job done no leaks I’m happy. So tome to clean the carbs and this is were the fun begins. Off with the petrol tank and notice one of the rocker cover bolts is missing 🤔 another job for later. Get the 8mm spanner to remove the carb inlet from the head and oh no two just spin the head s are rounded on the bolts and the spanner just slips when you apply any torque 😩.

So I tried three 8mm spanners to see if a better grip could be obtained, no luck. Next tried different grips, no luck. Next file two faces so a 7mm spanner would fit, the bolts in tight as the spanner rounds the edges of the 7mm filed surfaces 😡. So I think let’s weld a spanner on to the nut, then I think if it turns a third how do I get spanner off, let’s think again. Weld another nut on to the bolt that might work, then I think my welding skills aren’t great, let’s think again. Cut through the hard rubber inlets get the carbs out the way and maybe get a smaller socket on, would be a shame to destroy those intakes, think again. So last resort Birmingham screwdriver, also known as a very heavy lump hammer and a small wood chisel. Don’t try this at home kids. A bit of heat first with a blow torch, then thump, thump, thump as hard as I can with the lumpy. Don’t think this is going to work I’m thinking 🤨. Keep at it I say to myself. Then eureka it surrenders at last 🥳.
