Am looking at a 250Dream on eBay for a winter restoration project. Being sold as 250 Dream. However, log book says CB250N Reg is CMO 969V, first registered in Sep 79 Frame says CB250 N 2022168. Interested in expert opinions. Pictures look good for dream but concerned reg doesn't match bike. According to check I've done engine matching this frame is CB250 NE 2022181. photos.app.goo.gl/xv1weg4QL7Dky5n48photos.app.goo.gl/i69pvMis5KR87RQ59photos.app.goo.gl/Hsd2rESiE12NUmV86photos.app.goo.gl/ytvBBTdq3uiHj73P9With 20 previous keepers it's a hotch potch or parts I guess. Looks like Super dream clocks as no chrome trim. Master cylinder and indicators are def Dream Items. I'm in Glasgow and auction finishes tomorrow so inspection out of question. Thanks for assistance, still can't make sense of frame number. I'm assuming the SuperDream has a different frame?

hi and welcome along, as nick said pictures will help, the numbers are probably the best bet to be sure. the problem lies in the fact that so many parts are easily interchangeable, a few things to look for is it 6 speed (could have been converted but only I'm that crazy, surely?) does the clutch cover have the cap that allows the balance chain to be adjusted? do the wheels have steel 'spokes' or alloy? hope this helps

sorry just noticed your picture links. I looked at this on ebay myself (its about 6 miles from me) looking more closely I'd say the engine and frame are factory correct (numbers are in the right vicinity of each other) the engine has the correct clutch and mag wheel covers. the rear grab rail (which looks pretty good, thankfully cos they are a bugger to find) looks right and the rear indicators are really specific and look right (rusty but right). shocks are hard to say because of the rust but I think they should have chrome top forks.
the bit thats throwing me is the bars and clocks as they both look like SD to me, it would be interesting to see if theres any slack in the cables/wiring for the higher dream type bars

It does slightly, yes indeed. From all the information you have now posted, this certainly started life as a CB250N Superdream. Both engine and frame numbers look to be the matching originals on this bike as 13 numbers out from eachother is certainly within expected 'match range'. Bike appears to have been mixed with a lot of CB250T Dream parts. The CB250T would have ceased production in 1977, perhaps early 78 at the very latest with a UK 'S' registration. Those models also have frame numbers that have this format : CB250T-10000001 (onwards)

Yes 6 speed for sure. Unless of course that has been changed too?
