Come on...you know I'm only jesting.
Pull those plugs out...and give them a reset...then live happily ever after......UM

is it too soon to ask yet? if its any consolation I spent most of the weekend losing the skin on my knuckles in my own car (if only everything in life was as reliable as a volkswagen, not any more) first problem a coolant pipe (flow to heater matrix) had fractured, the really irritating thing is the heat shield that was supposed to protect it caused the issue . the pipe itself is a specialist VW item due to the routing, however theres plenty of space behind the battery so a bit of 3/4" bore pipe replaced it without any stressed bends but as always its all the crap you have to take off to get at it. at least fitting new rear brake drums was fairly straight forward and I have the bonus of a handbrake that now works beautifully. hopefully back to bikes soon

I've got multiscanecu for Alfas/fiat's etc arriving tomorrow so hopefully this will give me more data, but I have a sneaky feeling the body ecu is faulty, oh what fun, I'm leaving it at work tomorrow and taking a car, I'll use the multi scan thing and take out the body ecu to check plugs/wiring etc. Superdream problems are so much easier, having a beer? oh yes 😄

ouch! could I offer something positive? (other than beer ) several years ago I owned a VW polo 1.9SDI (wish the sills hadnt rotted away, great car) it too started going into limp mode. the diagnostic doofer kept coming up with throttle position sensor (pig to get at to change) it actually turned out to be the ECU at fault but it wouldnt diagnose itself as the problem. a secondhand item with guarantee was twice the price of what the car was worth, so with some trepidation I took it out and opened it up, very gently cleaned the aluminium corrosion off the circuit board and the casing and left the whole lot on the side of the aga for a few hours. I then sealed it back up with low modulus glazing silicon (best quality stuff I had chucking about) and left it overnight to set. plugged it back in and fitted it into a freshly cleaned housing on the car and it never missed a beat again.

I'm hoping for a similar outcome, spent yesterday checking as many connections as possible and all are like new, tomorrow will reveal more or not, watch this space, fookin car, 20 years of Jap cars with no problems then this, still I like a challenge 🤔

Early start, woke up early and started thinking about a couple of faults that appeared yesterday, low oil pressure warning and actual loss of steering, this seemed more than a bc fault so decided to check under the bonnet again, and sure enough I stumbled across the more than likely culprit, the nut was loose one one side of the 125amp ecu fuse, cable was rattling up and down a good couple of mill, what a plank, should have spotted it instead of making the fatal mistake of going down the rabbit hole, quick test drive and all ok, I'm not jumping up and down yet, but loose connections are guaranteed to screw up electrical do daa's so fingers crossed 🤞

Lord Beer drives a very hard bargain indeed. However, it has Alfa on the badge. Five quid.
(To the other members here, I may not survive these negotiations. So remember me well)
