A company called Motone are selling these for around 150 quid plus. I just got a pair at half that. Ideal for this project. I like the look.

Remember that this is a budget project - looks a bit of an extravagance The project is surely allowed just a little bit of indulgence? Bike has got to have some bling to give it a cosmetic lift. I looked at sourcing used genuine panels but even one without any damage would cost this alone. Those scrambler number plates it came with I have shoved on bay of nits for the same money and there are quite a few watchers so I reckon we can offset the price of these panels anway.

Just ordered one of these (two gauge version): two is all you really need, you could do a four with two gauges, probably a six too

Was great to get the missing mudguard, chrome stays and fork protectors back again.....they were long gone from the original project but sourced secondhand at extremely good value. The mudguard actually came from Stratford Racecourse autojumble just like the front indicator assemblies in March 2023 which is a great home run of course. Lack of metal bracket meant there was no actual brace between the forks which you could also feel when riding the bike....and of course a bit unsafe.

From memory, this is the first time I have synchronsied (balanced) carbs myself.
Ahead of doing it, I have been back to youtube to check something out, this video in particular. Why? Because it seems there has always been a bit of doubt about the reliability of these cheaper gauges. I think if both (in my case) are tested on one vaccum to check they are reading the same then that is all that is needed to worry about. Going to get on and finally do mine tomorrow. This video has helped, I must admit, just need to grab a T Piece tomorrow from the local motor factor.
