So I kitted some main stand and side stand springs today, rebuilds and renewals. I've gone for the Euro main stand set-up, with the two springs one inside the other (easier to get on I've found...) (Sorry the pic is not a sharp as it could be)

Did the German ones have the suicide stand? Not sure, but I fitted the twin spring arrgt on my NC's main stand and it operates ok. I'm keeping the side stand spring the same though [15]95410-72402

I know that I once bought a kit on ebay for my SD and it was originally supplied in Germany. The kit was designed to make the stand flick up automatically when the weight was taken off it (German regulation I think). To be honest I don't like that type of stand, had one on a Ducati once and the bike ended up going over (dont ask how lol).

I have 3 four screw master cylinders under overhaul, that I started last year (2 x 14mm and 1 x 5/8"). Other than being seized up for a good while, damaged boots, rusty washers and circlips, not a lot wrong, so intend re-assemble once they are ultrasonic dipped and repainted. but then I thought the springs may be past their best, no separate listed SD number that I could see, so went for these. If compressed by 1 to 2mm the coils exactly line up with the original springs (perhaps confirming the old springs are perhaps a bit weak). So if it quacks like a duck, it will do... So, new spring, boot, circlip, and washer, still nowhere near the price of the overhaul kit (especially the 14mm kit), of course more risk it will not work perhaps, but worth a try .

Some more bits and pieces done today, not really for the bikes of this thread, but took the opportunity to get them done in the sun between showers. CB400NC fork cases, were done in a non-standard Gold powder coating, good finish, but not a good gold shade (can't find the before pics). Now reworked for NB configuration forks going on my CB400N kicker, I will will assemble them tomorrow if the new drain plug bolts come from DSS..... Another set of cases, these were overhauled a while back, at two different times, so the finish was slightly different, quick thin matching coat to make them uniform, turned out well I think... An extra spindle clamp. Another spare r/h bracket for a right side twin pot (for 276mm disc). Three 4 hole master cylinder cap frames. NOS collector box arrival tomorrow I hope, and the little fork drain plugs. p.s. I have a spare left, later type fork case, currently painted black though.

Bargain! acquired another (CB400NB/NC )Tsubaki Alpha 520 100 link chain, £36 delivered, advertised for a ZX6R. (with a bonus RK520SO rivet master link in the packet for some reason?? as the Tsubaki master link was present) It was another 102 link or more chain I was searching for, but couldn't go past a spend to save later opportunity , as they can be months apart, just need another pattern rear sprocket and that will be another CB400N C&S kit laid aside. Though I do have a 37T rear somewhere, but it does not have the guard plate.. They can only cost a bit more next year perhaps, I have to assume...it's the fashion.

I was getting some bits and bobs for a brake plate refurbishment. notice the shoe wear washer tab does not have an embossed arrow on the tab, thought the originals did. something else to check...
