Pity about the front pipes, you have a blow lamp/Dremel and know about how to split a nut ? Anyways damage done but you have welding equipment. Two copper head bolt washers, so it's been apart before... You could always split the c/cases and removed rod caps and deal with pistons on the bench. How are the centre head bolt holes in the c)case, all there or half missing ? You have a large metal container that will accommodate head, cylinders, old engine oil and heat.... A proper barn/garden find, £150 ??!

The problem is the corrosive and almost welding effect that takes place between alloy and steel. The bit you don't see is that the valves are corroded into the head and the alloy blocks holding the header pipes in were also solid. I am stunned the long head bolts came out. I hope to save the bottom half and have a decent spare set of cylinders and a head. Also header pipes with less rust as it happens. So far I have a good collector box, good forks, a frame and half an engine. That's worth £150. But the biggest plus is the one lady owner from new, with all the history. So it's not so much about the money as just bringing it back from the brink, when probably no one else would. Thanks for the interest though. I need all the help I can get 😩 👍

Yep, I know what you mean.
It's great to reserect a bike using your skill rather than a cheque book.....like some do.
A part submerged in hot oil can work wonders, but you have to be so very carefully, serious burn and fire risk, but it can and does work....old acidic engine oil....
