Yes I fitted mine and have had good luck with them so far.
The originals I notice had a nut and a slotted shaft which you can use to dismantle them but these I notice have a different arrangement.
They certainly are the closest thing to original you can find as a new item, I even put the FVQ stickers on mine lol.

Got these delivered today. They look great, not fitted yet but I think that they are a pretty good copy of the originals. been looking for shocks for a while and couldnt find any I was happy with. I have to say I like those so much I'v just ordered a pair, cheers for the nudge in the right direction

OK, after being MIA for 2 years, I have been trying to work out where I have 'stored' many of the parts I bought for the bike. so far I have found most of it, but missing some parts I know I bought but for the life of me can't find. a few more days of digging and should be able to work out which bits belong to which bike. I can say for sure that even with bags of parts labelled up saying what they are, it will not be easy remembering how it goes back together. I have even misplaced my haynes manual, of which I have multiple copies. I am sure I will find a box somewhere with the missing bits, just have to keep digging.

I managed to find a couple of bags of new bits. there are still some things missing, but would I be right in saying this is the traditional place to start reassembly? I just need to bolt something together to feel like I have officially restarted.

If your doing it single handed, get an assistant for 20 minutes.
Fit bare frame to engine, don't scratch the paint but remember about earth, unless your Gunna fit an extra dedicated earth to the engine.
Next fit centre stand and raise bike onto it and place a "jack" under protected load spreader sump support.
Next would be front forks and wheel so sump support can be removed, it sits well on centre stand when front wheel is on.
Remember CMSNL for the really informative exploded views....
If everything new/spotlessly clean and you have permission, a house reassembly is luxury.
Enjoy......

I wish I was ready to refit the engine, but not ready for that yet. (suggestions for engine paint welcomed)
Front forks also not ready, I still need to buy 2 tubes or get the originals rechromed. that's probably the biggest expense still outstanding, except maybe chroming some parts. Oh and paint, although the original set of tank / bodywork is ok to fit for the time being. I have another set needing paint.
Good point about the earth, although I would hate to remove any of my nice shiny powder coat. some will need to come off to get a bolt through.
CMSLNL is great for identifying the right parts, I used it to find the right numbers for most of the stuff I bought.
Just spent half an hour looking for the swing arm pivot bolt..........found it fitted to the swingarm, my memory is getting worse.
The build will be done in my freezing garage, nice clean shiny bits only stored in my home office (with the correct permissions of course)
at least this process is helping me remember what I have and what I still need. I really need to start getting the remaining items or it will be another 2 years.

In that case to speed up reassembly, prepare rear engine bolts and nuts and frame holes as well as from bracket and fixings, lay out parts methodically.
Same for centre stand parts to include the spring and "c arm".
Prepare front wheel parts like spindle, Speedo drive and wheel. Forks complete, steering head ( are the races in and bottom yoke turning ? ) and top yoke.
That way you can fit frame to engine and centre stand. Prepare jack and load spreader for under sump, or, weights sufficient to keep the rear end of frame down.
You are finding stuff and preparing for the day you fit the frame to the engine and getting the front end ready.
When air box, swing arm, shocks and rear wheel in ( leave off rhs alloy off for now, as rear break pedal and bracketry will need fitting, a little awkward from memory ) swing arm nut on rhs check CMSNL for that as oe )) can push the "naked" bike out into the sunshine, oh joy of joys.
Enjoy....

Engine is starting to look a bit more presentable after 30 years of dirt and corrosion removed. Finish is nowhere as good yet as some I have seen on here, I will just keep putting in the hours until it looks better (or I lose the will).

OK, so I got bored with engine polishing. decided to use the snowy weather and stay in the garage and make some progress.

I have left this a bit late, but I thought it was time to look at the carbs. I do have a spare set ready to go, but I would prefer to refit the originals if possible. Anyway, I removed the float bowls to find this If you notice the left carb float height is much lower than the other. they are also disgusting inside. when I removed the floats, the float needle valve on the left carb looked like this Not a great photo, but if you can see, there is no spring pin on top of the float needle valve (or it is stuck down). I stuck everything in the ultrasonic for 30 mins I should have taken 'before' pictures, but the float chambers were truly disgusting, looking a bit better now. Now I need to buy 2 refurb kits for these, another visit to silvers website I suppose.

carb repair kits arrived really quickly, so I got on with it and got them back together. Float heights are now correct, carbs set up as per guide with pilot screws out 2 turns for now. Carbs fitted to bike along with throttle and choke cables, and airbox half fitted. I have new bolts and screws for the airbox (somewhere) Second fork tube is due to arrive from Italy tomorrow, then I can get the front end assembled. I know I have a couple of front discs stored somewhere. At the moment I have only found 2 fitted to a 400 front wheel which I don't really need, can't even remember where I got that but 400 discs are no use to me.

Great progress. Keen to know how the carbs perform, they can be awkward buggers.
