I can see in the headlight bowl where 4 connectors could be held. 1 in each bracket thing for the mounts and two slots at the bottom rear. for sure when I took it apart, they were just all stuffed in behind the headlight. I would love to see a picture of where each connector should go, I have been looking but not seen anything on the forum or in the manuals.
And while I was typing this, the last post appeared, thankyou this forum is great.

This is from the Honda's workshop manual for the 250N.

thanks for the info. I actually found a picture in the cb250t manual, which is exactly the same as Graham's set up. I think it is the way to go. I started on it yesterday, and it's looking a lot better.

I have just about worked the headlamp bowl wiring out The 2 loose ends marked as No1 in the photo below are the front indicator connections, light blue and orange. Just 1 wire doing my head in. circled as No2 in the picture below. it is a black wire going to a double connector. it comes from one end of the red multi connector. I can't see on the wiring diagram what it can be.

You will get a more comprehensive answer than this, but I am fairly certain the black wire is not used. Someone will know why...

thanks Duffer, I have already been buzzing out the loom with my multimeter to try and work out where the wire comes from. that doesn't help with where it goes to, now I can relax.

Post Xmas status update, threw a battery into it and turned the key while waiting for the blue smoke to escape. I was more than happy to see this instead. starter still to be fitted, bench tested ok so should be ok on the bike. headlight to be fitted and tested. sidelight and tail light fitted and working. I think I will risk putting the cable ties on the loom now.

Today I fitted the headlight and starter motor, both worked perfectly. The headlight goes to high beam, but I am getting no blue light, hopefully just a bulb replacement will fix that. Started looking at the exhaust system, not too happy with the high level parts I bought. Well, I should say most of them are fine. the left hand downpipe however is crap, it seems to be at least an inch longer than OEM. it also has not been bent enough, so fitting both ends is impossible. thirdly, the OD of the end that fits into the collector is too big for the seal to go on. I trial fitted the original double skinned Honda downpipes and they, as expected, are a perfect fit. I now have a decision to make, I want the bike running ASAP. I think I will just use the original downpipes, they don't look too bad if you squint from 6 feet. the inside of each looks a bit worse, but they will have to do for now until I can either source another set or get these chromed.

Yes, you may well only be able to see it light up in the dark, but then you probably don't want it to be massively bright at night anyway.

Interesting how the idiot lights appear in a different order on the later NC? models. Then again maybe they don't and I am the idiot.
