Thanks Nick. Should get it sorted soon. I have now painted the repaired seat pan so will post a couple of pictures of it later. I also noticed it came up in the discussion at the weekend. Should my ears be burning with thoughts of "Dozey git. You can't polish a turd" ! au contraire, says I. I would not have said so - you are held in the highest regard here. Sadly I was not on that meet as I was on child care duties (I don't mean with our fellow forum members or myself) but I hope to join this week if we are graced with another. The discussion was about the skill you have welding a pile of rust back into a seat pan - all complementary You should join us on Saturday

Two seat covers now ordered from Bob the seat. I have to say he was very helpful, answered all my questions and even refunded one of the automatic delivery charges as he was sending two in the same pack. I will report on the quality and post pictures as it all goes together. So far...... happy bunny !

Dumb as I am, only just noticed I have been promoted "Project Extraordinaire" ?! Forum tight arse may have been more accurate. "Buy a new one ? Wash your mouth out !"

Any pix of Bob the seat's covers?
Are they a copy of the original 'fishbone' or a different take?

Looking good. I'm sure in the dim and distant past I had one of the covers from the ebay seller here (discovers) but lately he seems to have picked up a bit of bad feedback. Not with the product as it is good but more so with delivery issues. Maybe that has been beyond his control, who knows. I bought one out of curiosity and sold it on but it seemed a very decent item. Was great to finally put a face to the name earlier Steve, look forward to seeing the cover when it arrives.

Definitely not a genuine cover. I picked up one with the same pattern at Stafford about 15 years ago. Never fitted it and still have it.

Very much enjoyed the chat with you all earlier. Did forget in the moment to again thank Pete for the donated swinging arm for this bike. I am always stunned by the generosity out there and rest assured it is collectively putting these old bikes back on the road. Just picked up a set of grab rails for under sixty quid too tonight, so a good day 👍

I do already have 2 sets in reasonable condition, one set came from Italy.

The very same Andy. No way to avoid conflicting interests but I am pleased you let them go. Steadily building up the parts needed for this resto.

The very same Andy. No way to avoid conflicting interests but I am pleased you let them go. Steadily building up the parts needed for this resto. No conflicting interest really. I saw they were at a low price with about 3 hours to go so popped a stupid bid on it on the off chance. I didn't expect to win them and don't even need them but if I were to win then they would have been kept for future use or for someone else to use. I am slowly building a few bits and pieces up when I see them at a good price, and if I see anyone post they need something I have would be quite willing to pass on to them as I most likely will not use most of what I have! I am glad you got them and know they will be put to good use.
